Firstly a huge thank you to everyone that joined our the Cuesport TV Facebook Fanpage. We set the challenge of trying to reach 1000 fans by 31st January. I am pleased to say that we surpassed that target on January 31st.

What this means is that we will as promised donate £100 to the Paul Hunter Foundation (a video will be made to show us actually sending the money!). In addition Fabio Marcello of Italy won the £50 voucher for BilliardsBoutique.com.

Snooker

John Higgins has won the Welsh Open with a 9-4 win over last years champion, Ali Carter. The win puts Higgins 9505 points ahead of Ronnie O’Sullivan at the top of the provisional rankings. If he matches Ronnie’s result at the China Open in March then he will be confirmed as world number 1 before the World Championships start in April.

An interesting last weekend and apologies for not having provided a podcast last week, it just got a little bit hectic and we couldn’t find the time.

It won’t happen again! In fact we will try and do an extra one at some point in order to catch up.

This weeks podcast is about the recent UPC 8-ball Pool Championships held in Great Yarmouth. A good weekend of action, just a shame it was not live!

Visit UPC-Pool for more information or there is a decent sized forum thread over at Cue Club International, I haven’t read it so can’t comment on the quality of the posts.

In addition this episode also discusses Ali Carter’s recent win in the Welsh Open snooker final where he beat Joe Swail and of course the up coming live event from Peckham.

The live event should be a cracker, John Kelly takes on Tony Halpin for some pocket money - £10,000 per man! Best of 35 frames World Rules 8-ball pool action. It is free to watch so get over to CueSport TV.
