At the recent GB9 Southern Masters, Pete Williams got an extended interview with the GB 9 Ball Tour Chairman Lee Rigby, you can listen to this by hitting the play button above now. This podcast is also available on iTunes (click the button to the right).

In this interview Lee talks about the problems the tour faces and how much work goes into running a professional 9-ball pool tour on the scale of the GB9 Tour.

Also mentioned are the results from the tournament last weekend, of which CueSport TV recorded 14 matches (the first three are already available for viewing, with more to come over the following weeks).

This week also see’s the return of the Eurotour with many British players participating in this for the all-important ranking points on offer, at the time of writing Daryl Peach, Darren Appleton, Imran Majid and Craig Osborne were still in the three day tournament.

Podcast #010: The GB9 Southern Masters preview show…

March 20th, 2009

This edition of On The Baize focuses on this weekend’s GB9 Southern Masters from Rileys in Croydon. I make an attempt to predict the winners of all three events once again, last time I failed miserably so will be looking to redeem myself.

One of the biggest bits of news is that Pro Cup number 1 Darren Appleton will not be playing as he is in the USA.

Angela brings news of the events of the coming week including live streaming of the Pro Players Championship from Valley Forge in the USA.

AZBilliards are offering live coverage of the event here:

An apology to the Queens Belfast pool team who I had claimed had refused to collect their medals at the UPC 8-ball event, this was not the case and I was rightfully put in my place by Chris Canning via the comments on this blog. Found here: Podcast #07: UPC 8-ball Championships…

________________

Podcast #06 takes a look at this weekend’s Eurotour Paris Open that features a number of high profile 9-ball pool players including Tony Drago, Daryl Peach, Ralf Souquet and Niels Feijen.

The tournament is available via a live stream on the Internet at:

Eurotour Live Stream

The stream is a decent quality and is well-worth a look although you will have to register with address, phone number, email and more and the site is also not running on a secure protocol.

There is also a preview for the Welsh Open snooker tournament that starts on the 16th February and features a number of Welsh players in addition to the regulars on the World snooker tour.

Welsh Open Snooker

Pete’s Predictions for this one is a Matthew Stevens v Ryan Day final, a little bit sentimental perhaps with an all-welsh affair!

Finally, extended details of CueSport TV’s first live broadcast of 2009, from Great Yarmouth, are talked about including multiple cameras and live score graphics. It is free and all that is required is a login/registration (also free!)
