The Video I Have Been Talking About

I have been mentioning the HD videos that I produced last week quite a lot on my blog, Twitter and Facebook so I thought I would just post one on here. You can see it below but will need about 5meg of download speed.

It’s all a bit of a ploy really as I am thinking of opening up the embed codes for all of our free videos so others can use them on their own websites – what do you think?

Snooker Is Obviously Popular

Since we have been covering the TCC Snooker Pro-am from Newport each week we have seen a 5% growth in our viewers accessing our video on demand categories.

Some elements of the media suggest that snooker is dying and there is no doubt that it has undergone a decline since it’s heydey in the 1980′s, both in terms of playing numbers and TV audiences.

What these media types forget though is that for the decline in the UK there has been major growth in places like Germany, Belgium, Russia, The Middle East and China.

Although 60% of our website traffic still comes from the UK we are finding more and more of it is driven to access snooker related content. Viewers from all over the globe want to get a regular fix of high quality snooker videos. I would suggest (without any evidence I must add) that this could be due to the fragmentation of pool disciplines. It is easier to search and find snooker content as it is it’s own discipline, pool on the other hand comes in many forms and is a little trickier to find.

I have always said that the growth of Cuesport TV will come about by good quality snooker content and this is what we are finding.

I am hoping to announce another major tournament being added to our live offering over the next week so look out for that.

Subscriptions are live

The wait is over!

The new Cuesport TV subscriptions are now live, however, at this time they are not quite how I originally wanted them implemented. For this week only you, as a subscriber, will have to purchase ‘credits’ in advance of buying a subscription.

You don’t need to pay twice but you will need to make two transactions. The first to pay for the credits, the second to apply those credits to the subscription you require.

This will change over the next week and it will be a lot easier to purchase from Cuesport TV in due course. Once again I am frustrated but have to understand the work that Prostream are putting in to make this right. Eventually it will be a very slick interface that even allows payment via mobile telephone SMS services.

There are 23 videos that are currently part of the subscription and this equates to around 10 hours of viewing.

The first live event that will be subscription only will be this Thursday’s event from the TCC Snooker Pro-am, those of you that viewed last week know the quality of the live stream and will hopefully be back to support it.

Try purchasing a Cuesport TV Subscription now.

Let me know if you encounter any issues.
