Grand Prix Snooker Second Round

Today see’s the final section of the Grand Prix Snooker second round. The pick of the day is obviously Stephen Hendry v Mark Williams.

Yesterday I had a bit of a prediction over the correct score with John Higgins to beat Ronnie O’Sullivan 5-4, I was right, but sadly had no money on it!

You can today by betting with Sporting Bet right here: Grand Prix Snooker Betting

My prediction for todays big match is Hendry to beat Williams 5-3 which with the aforementioned Sporting Bet is 6/1, worth a go I reckon!

Premier League Snooker Betting

Tonight is week two of the 2009 Premier League snooker and Sporting Bet (who have incidentally just partnered with Cuesport TV) are offering a number of odds for in-play and outright performance both for tonights matches and the overall tournament itself.

The best one of the list at the time of writing in my opinion is Judd Trump to beat 7-times world champion, Stephen Hendry 4-2. You can currently get 11/4 on this exact scoreline.

The other match is John Higgins v Shaun Murphy in a repeat of the 2009 World Snooker Championship Final

UK Championship Snooker Firmly Underway

Through all the hullabaloo over the Mosconi Cup at the weekend I failed to mention that the UK Championship Snooker was on as well!

The second most prestigious tournament in the World Snooker calendar is being shown live on the BBC in the UK and on BBC interactive with table choice. In addition you can watch a snooker live stream also courtesy of the BBC, I believe that due to contractual issues this stream is only available to UK viewers.

Currently the live streams are:

Steve Davis v Ding Junhui

Ronnie O’Sullivan v Joe Perry

If you are outside of the UK then I am sorry that you can’t see it. However, I have posted some unofficial (I must stress unofficial) videos posted on YouTube of this years Championships. They are unofficial snooker videos but are of a reasonable quality:

Steve Davis v Ding Junhui (Part 1)

Stephen Maguire v Jamie Burnett (Part 1)

Controversy

Although no statement has been made from World Snooker yet, betting was suspended on the Stephen Maguire v Jamie Burnett match after irregular betting patterns on a 9-3 victory to Stephen. Ironically the match did finish 9-3 so more information will certainly be requested.
