8-Ball Super Tour Finale this weekend

November 17th, 2009

Rather than regurgitate something that is already written you can see the full press release here: 8-Ball Pool Super Tour Live. We are pleased to be involved in this tour as it means we can provide high quality pool for our viewers including numerous World 8-Ball Champions like Phil Harrison.

On the press release page there is a poll asking who will win this event, it is a tough question as one of the attractive things about this series is that anyone on their day could win. So far from three tournaments we have had three different winners and it is likely we will see a fourth winner this weekend as well.

Throughout the weekend we will be making score updates and results available not on the blog this time but over at our good friends Cue Club International, here you can get involved in live discussion and also make a few more predictions about the event.

The live coverage is available to paid subscribers only from 4pm on Saturday 21st November, the action (that starts at 12pm) will be free until that time, so feel free to dip in and have a look.

I am predicting Simon Ward to win this one, if he plays!

Challenge Matches on the Horizon

August 6th, 2009

Over the next two weekends (August 8th and August 15th/16th) Cuesport TV are involved in live streaming three separate big money match ups.

Burford vs Gray - Saturday 8th August, 5pm (UK Time) - Cuesport TV

The first on August 8th features, European Junior 9-ball Champion, Phil Burford and former European number 1, Mark Gray. These two stalwarts of the British 9-ball scene go head-to-head for £1000 per man. The game is 9-ball and it will be a race-to-30, winner breaks.

The action for this event will be live over at Cuesport TV to paid up subscribers, something you can do for as little as £2.95. The action starts at 5pm with an undercard match between Andy Appleton (brother of World Number 1 Darren Appleton) and young up-and-coming player Louis Clarke. They are playing for £500 per man race-to-21 I believe and will be live also in advance of the main event.

£10,000 Scotch Doubles Challenge - Saturday 15th August, 5pm (UK time) American Pool TV

Another evening of entertainment that starts with a tasty undercard match, UK Pro players Scott Higgins and Alan Millership match up for £500-per-man. Race-to-15 9 Ball action. A good precursor for what is to come at around about 7pm.

The big match up on the cards on this particular night is an interesting one. Rarely do we see scotch doubles matches outside of the Mosconi Cup so this will be a treat.

Karl Boyes & Chris Melling take on World number 1 Darren Appleton & Imran Majid.

The Prize?

A killer £10,000 winner-take-all pot. The match is 10 ball with a race-to-35 in operation, I expect a very close match, Boyes/Melling have a 5 rack start to make it even more interesting.

This live event will be the first one shown on American Pool TV where you can buy the match in advance for £4.99 or on the night for £7.49 make sure you buy it, amazing match up.

Simon Ward v Craig Reynold’s - Sunday August 16th, 3pm (UK Time) Cuesport TV

Another match for Cuesport TV subscribers.

Simon Ward, one of the most consistent players of the 2008 season plays renowned money player and IPA professional Craig Reynol’ds for a £6,000 pot.

Played to WEPF World Rules this one will appeal to the small-ball fans throughout the UK and Europe, possibly further afield.

To watch this one a subscription is required.

Clough Through after Epic Encounter

October 25th, 2008

Lee Clough had a much improved performance on the Cuesport TV table with an 8-5 win over Ian Hubbard in the first round of the Oracle Super Tour event in Bilston.

In an open draw both of these top professionals were unlucky to draw each other so early on and in an epic 1hour and 55 minute match a couple of key errors allowed Clough in to take the match.

On live now is Simon Ward (winner of event 2) and Daniel Davy.

Blackball has a future!

October 15th, 2008

I have just finished editing a recording made in June (I know it has taken a while!). This match features Welshman Simon Ward and Frenchman Christophe Lambert and was recorded at the £100 per man Blackball tournament this year.

It is a 1/4 final match of the highest quality and an edited 50 minute version is now available on CueSport TV, you can watch it here: Simon Ward v Christophe Lambert - Blackball - you will have to login to watch the match but it is free to do so.

If you want to watch the entire match then you can by purchasing the official DVD at a price of £15. It is a two disc set and features the entire 2hr 50 minute match, it is certainly worth a look and demonstrates why Blackball could be the future of the small ball game. Contact us via email to buy the DVD on:

enquiries @ cuesport.tv (remove spaces).

These two players both play very attacking pool with numerous break and runs between them, creativity and flair are certainly the key to this game and both are tremendous shot makers. This was further enhanced two weeks ago when we had some of the cream of the Blackball fraternity taking part in the British Open and the CueSport TV £50,000 Pool Series. Ben Davies, Tom Cousins, Scott Higgins, Karl Boyes, Simon Ward, Craig Marsh and more took part in these two events with over £16,000 prize money on offer across the two events. These matches will be available when we can find the time and again are worth a watch especially if you are not familiar with Blackball.

Our next live event is actually from the other code WEPF World Rules and this takes place on 24th/25th October from Bilston. Tune in please!
