At Cuesport TV we have provided the majority of our content for free to our growing number of viewers over the past 18 months. In order to improve our service and drive it forward we are introducing subscriptions.
As of the 17th June 2009 you will be able to purchase a premium subscription for Cuesport TV.
What do I get? Access to every live event during your subscription period, plus access to the Video-on-demand content before anyone else gets to see it. Basically VOD’s will be subscription only until they have been available for 6 months. They will then revert to being free*.
What Does it Cost?
You will remember recently that we asked our viewers to complete a survey. In that survey we asked what would you be prepared to pay for Cuesport TV. 77% of you responded saying you would pay for Cuesport TV, how much was varied.
So what we are doing is offering 8 different subscription levels so you can buy as much or as little as you choose. These start at just £2.95 - see the full range of subscriptions below.
Is anything going to be free? Yes, it is important for us still to appeal to those viewers that do not want to pay for Cuesport TV. Everything currently on the channel and recorded up to and including this weekends live event will be free. Videos within the subscription will become free after a period of 6 months.
*We are working with some international partners, due to the way the content is acquired it may have an additional cost over and above a subscription, also this type of content will never be available for free. Nothing at this stage has been finalised.
Subscription Levels
24 hour access - £2.95
48 hour access - £3.95
7 day access - £4.95
1 month access - £6.95
3 month access - £16.95

12 month access - £49.95

If you have any comments to make about the new subscriptions then please feel free to comment below.
The original interview did go out live on CueSport TV, however due to problems with the Internet connection it was not a continuous live stream as it kept breaking down on us!
It has been a bit of upheaval over at CueSport TV HQ over the last couple of weeks. The move to a new platform has meant most of the videos have been unavailable as they get re-encoded and uploaded.
However, the signs are very good for the future as we have received 28,000 to date in the first 11 days on the new platform, this would have taken over two months with the old system.
What this means is that we will be able to generate the revenues we need to continue our service by increased advertising revenue.
This is actually good for everyone, we get the money to drive the business forward, you (the viewers) get free high quality video content and advertisers get more people seeing there products or services.
This weekend (20th-22nd Feb) will see CueSport TV’s first live broadcast of 2009. The Universities Pool Council 8-ball Pool Championships will be streamed live online across all three days.
The tournament is the largest in the University pool calendar and it is anticipated that over 450 budding 8-ball players will be involved in the individual and team championships. The man to beat is CueSport TV regular Richard Wharton who is the defending individual champion and number 1 seed.
For the first time in a live event CueSport TV will be providing live graphical scoring and at least two camera angles to enhance the viewing pleasure. In addition live commentary will be available all weekend from Pete Williams and a selection of the players in the venue.
The event is free to all registered CueSport TV viewers, who will be required to login to the channel in order to watch. Joining CueSport TV is also free and simply requires an email address and password.
This is the first of many live events planned for 2009 from the company as it develops it’s portfolio of quality pool and snooker events.
