Quality

Getting hold of quality live events is becoming tougher these days, so if you have a tournament, money match or exhibition that could do with some live coverage then please let us know!

The Money Match TV Debate

Money Match TV as a series of pool events has now been running for over a year. A debate has been sparked recently about why players from the southern parts of the UK are failing to travel for these MMTV events.

What has started to happen is a core nucleus of players, from the Yorkshire area, have started to dominate these events and fresh faces and new talent are not putting themselves forward except in the lower banded matches.

In order for the series to be successful for us as the ‘broadcaster’ we need some needle and higher profile matches. It is a long trip for us from Dorset every month and there will become a point very soon where it becomes unsustainable for us to continue.

We will be starting to dictate a bit more the matches that will be shown on the ‘TV’ table and some of this can come from you guys telling us the matches that you would like to see. If we believe it is going to draw in a big crowd we will try our best to put the match on.

On a well known web forum some comments have been made about the number of ‘winner-stays-on’ matches. The whole system was built around boxing and the winner-stays-on nature of title fights. We still believe that this is the best way of developing the series, however, a number of users have suggested cutting the number of these matches and increasing the wildcards. The problem with this is that we would then be forcing players to play against each other in order to cut the numbers down, for new ‘winners’ this is just unfair as they have just won the right to ‘defend’ their position and start to win some money.

The series has a huge potential audience and now it is about stepping it up with some very interesting and ‘mass-market’ matches.

What are your thoughts on the Money Match TV series? How can it be developed? How can the PPV side of things be marketed better in order to keep the series running?

Money Match TV 13 takes place on Saturday 23rd July

Another Successful Event

Money Match TV was again a very successful live event with just over 1200 fans tuning in to watch the action live.

What makes these events special though is not just the pool action, the venue or the fact that it is streamed live but something more.

What makes them special is the live interaction with the fans, live text and after this weekend live photos of fans watching the streaming are what make it worthwhile and set it apart from other live streamed pool events.

A total of 64 different people sent in text messages during the event at the weekend, these messages are read out on air and give the viewer more ownership of what is actually happening.

It is something that Cuesport TV will continue to do over the next year and beyond.

In addition to this we are moving video platform in March which will mean Pay-per-View will once again become a strong way forward for us, this could also include live chat functions and Facebook sharing directly from the site as well, the relaunch is set for 1st March do do stay informed via our Facebook Page, Twitter or this blog.

A Nightmare Couple of Weeks

It has been a testing time over the last couple of weeks, the last two events we had scheduled had to be cancelled (event still happened we were not there) due to two problems with our vehicle.

This led to us purchasing a new car, nice, but financially not so!

It’s actually quite laughable in hindsight as en route to Bristol we lost the radiator, had that fixed and then on the way to Barnsley we made the end of our road before the exhaust fell off!

Oh, and when we broke down on the way to Bristol we didn’t have our breakdown cover or insurance details, couldn’t remember them between us and ended up having to fork out for RAC cover, live is good!

No such problems anymore though.

I am just sorry we did not make it to the events, sounds like we missed a couple of great tournaments.

There is a lot that goes on behind-the-scenes as with every business I for one am someone that just does not like letting people down, especially when we have made a commitment.

We Can’t Reach Every Event

In an ideal world Cuesport TV would be at every event throughout the UK to report on tournaments and the latest breaking news stories.

Unfortunately that is impossible for a small company. We have to take time away from tournaments sometimes so that we can catch up with editing and the many other tasks related to running the channel.

So, I have a plan!

If you are at a pool or snooker tournament and just happe to shoot some video you can send it to us and we will host it and broadcast it to the world. If it is good enough quality then we can even add score graphics and titles – you will always be credited with the work so don’t worry.
