Heaps of Videos Now Showing

It has been a little over two weeks since I returned from Ireland and the European Blackball Championships, during the time I had over there James and I recorded some amazing action and it has always been my intention to make new content available sooner.

On this occasion I have pulled out all the stops to try and keep this event fresh in people’s minds. All of the content has now been uploaded to our system, some is taking a bit more time than others to come through transcoding however. What this means is that there will be somewhere in the region of 30 hours worth of Blackball Pool for you to view.

Most of the content is broken down into hour long chunks, but if that is too long then just use the skip feature on the video player.

I really hope you enjoy tucking in and watching some of this action, my favourite match of the whole week was probably the men’s semi-final between Darren Sterrett and Gavin Cleary, the match was tense, had great safety and some good aggression on the table as well. In my eyes it proved to be a very good advert for the Blackball game.

Sadly this is one of the matches that is not yet released but I will update this post with a direct link once it is.

European Blackball Champs Live on Cuesport TV

I am very pleased to announce that once again we will be providing live coverage of the European Blackball Championships.

This bi-annual event takes place at the Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa & Country Club in Tullow, Ireland this year after last being held in the Isle of Man in 2009.

The live coverage available on Cuesport TV runs from Sunday 18th September through to the conclusion of the event on Thursday 22nd September. As with all Cuesport TV live events, this event is only available on PPV for the low price of only £4.99 for the whole 5 days of action.

Andy Lucas won the men’s individuals last time out and makes a welcome return to the England ‘A’ team as well. The most interesting thing is that the defending men’s champions, Scotland, are not attending the ‘A’ event. This opens the doors for a very strong team from France to put pressure on some of the other nations.

Find out more details at the European Blackball Association Website.

Each day I will attempt to update the blog with the days scheduled matches, this years event has made it easier to cover the singles events than in the past and I know that has a lot of appeal.

Please join us if you can, just £4.99 for 5 days of quality pool.

Isle of Man Pool Festival Returns

Isle of Man Pool Festival Returns

Ross McInnes, six-times World Pool Champion and promoter of the Isle of Man festival has today released further details of one of the hottest tickets on the pool calendar.

The 2009 Festival of Pool with run from the 27th September until the 3rd October and will be jam-packed full of tournaments and events throughout the week.

In addition to the main festival that ran last year, McInnes has also secured the EBA European Championships for the same venue during the week. There will be Mens, Womens, Senior and Junior team events plus singles in each category including a wheelchair event.

There is talk of Eurosport involvement in this event and if so it will add even more prestige to an already fantastic tournament.

Last and by no means least there will also be the first ever staging of the Inter-Continental Cup between Europe & Africa. Each continent will field a team in the following categories, Mens, Ladies, Seniors, U-23, U-18.

More exciting details to follow so stay tuned!

An Early Heads Up on the Isle of Man Pool Festival

Last September/October I spent 10 days out in the fantastic Isle of Man providing live coverage of the Festival of Pool from the wonderful setting of the Villa Marina in Douglas.

Whilst out at Bridlington recently for the EBA Blackball World Pool Masters, I had a good chat with festival promoter Ross McInnes about the potential for this years festival.

Well as a quick heads up I can tell you that the festival goes ahead at the same time as last year (25th Sept-4th Oct) and this one will be bigger and better in a number of ways. The festival last year was not as big as it could have been as the European Championships were being held in Selsea at the same time.

Well, that is the first change, the European Championships will be in the Isle of Man during the course of the festival.

In addition a new competition will also be played to give a more international flavour to the event and the Blackball game. South Africa are sending a team over and will compete against a team from Europe in the inter-continental cup.

All of this action will be offered live on CueSport TV over the 10 days.
