A Very Good Advert for Blackball

For some reason these two video files took longer than all of the others to come through our transcoding system. they were originally uploaded on the 29th September and a few errors occurred meaning they have only been made available today.

For me this was the best match and best advert for Blackball pool from the entire week of the European Blackball Championships in Ireland.

It was a real clash of styles between Darren Sterrett of Northern Ireland and Gavin Cleary of the host nation. The match was from the semi-final stage and a place in the final was up for grabs.

Darren was much more the steady player and from my experience of Blackball over the past couple of years I had him down as the favourite.

Before the tournament Gavin was unknown to me (may have missed a trick there I know!) but came out in this match with some seriously aggressive and attacking pool.

Heaps of Videos Now Showing

It has been a little over two weeks since I returned from Ireland and the European Blackball Championships, during the time I had over there James and I recorded some amazing action and it has always been my intention to make new content available sooner.

On this occasion I have pulled out all the stops to try and keep this event fresh in people’s minds. All of the content has now been uploaded to our system, some is taking a bit more time than others to come through transcoding however. What this means is that there will be somewhere in the region of 30 hours worth of Blackball Pool for you to view.

Most of the content is broken down into hour long chunks, but if that is too long then just use the skip feature on the video player.

I really hope you enjoy tucking in and watching some of this action, my favourite match of the whole week was probably the men’s semi-final between Darren Sterrett and Gavin Cleary, the match was tense, had great safety and some good aggression on the table as well. In my eyes it proved to be a very good advert for the Blackball game.

Sadly this is one of the matches that is not yet released but I will update this post with a direct link once it is.

European Blackball Final at 16:00 Today!

EBA Euro Champs – Day 3 Schedule

Day 3 – 20th September

There will be a slight change to our orginal schedule as the singles finals were moved to 4pm today (supposed to be 6pm on 19th).

10:00 – England v Northern Ireland

13:00 – Doubles First Round

16:00 – Men’s Singles Final – Christophe Thebault (FRA) v Gavin Cleary (IRE)

18:00 – Northern Ireland v France

Finals – Hmmmm

After spending the last 30 minutes telling everyone the start time and players for the men’s final the EBA have now announced that they have been postponed until tomorrow.

This has been caused by a team session running over by 50 minutes (so far, as there are still matches going on).

Rather than start the latest session past 8pm they have decided to postpone the singles finals until 16:00 on Tuesday 20th September.

Unfortunately we have no control over the schedule and can only broadcast what is available.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

Euro Blackball – Day 2 Schedule

Day two starts at 10:30am with the Ladies and Senior Quarter-Finals and is concluded with the singles finals. Below is a rough idea of the match times and what we are covering on Day 2 (Monday 19th Sept).

10:30am – Ladies Singles Last 16 – Yvonne Ewing v Kim Carney

12:00pm – Men’s Singles Quarter Final – Christophe Thebault v Jimmy Carney

1:30pm – Men’s Singles Semi Final

3:30pm – England v France (Men’s A)

6:00pm – Men’s Singles Final

If there is scope within the schedule to cover another of the finals we will try our best.

14:30 – Ladies Singles 1st Round – Yvonne Ewing (Sco) v Claire Brown (Eng)
Ladies Singles 2nd Round – Claire Webster (NI) v Nicky Correia (Gib)

17:30 – Wheelchair Final

There may be scope in the schedule to select extra team or wheelchair matches depending on timings.

The singles sessions contain more than one round of matches and are played down to the latter stages today, our coverage will finish at around 20:00 this evening. At this time we do not have access to the draw of the singles events, if that changes we will post it here.
