Snooker’s Big Day
December 2nd, 2009
Reports are suggesting that Sir Rodney Walker has failed in his efforts to remain as Chairman of the WPBSA. Also leaving are Jim McMahon and Mike Dunn. Walker lost 32-24 in the voting so interesting that some players have finally seen light and backed snooker for a future.
It has been heavily publicised recently that Barry Hearn would be interested in the job but I imagine that it is more than a formality.
More information as I find it.
I’m interested to know which newspapers will be reporting the story on thursday aside from the Times(?). It would be interesting to read full coverage of this AGM and what is to follow as the UK Championships start on Saturday.
I know the BBC has provided some coverage online at bbc.co.uk but I think most newspapers and media outlets are just providing the basic facts. I think it will be a while before anyone gets voted onto the board though.
Check out barryhearnonsnooker.com. I created this site to keep track of all activity going on with this situation.
