Ricardo Jones wins 10-ball at Mickey Flynn’s

The second of our live broadcasts at the weekend was the Mickey Flynn’s 10-ball Open.

The event featured 42 players, and with many of the notables on duty for GBR at the European Championships it was thrown wide open.

Again we were broadcasting it live and the technical issues of the Saturday did not come back to haunt us and everything ran very smoothly from our point of view!

The tournament kicked of at 12pm with 8 groups playing a round robin format, Tournament Director Ricardo Jones decided on a best-of-11 format with all racks played for the round robin stage. A decision that came back to haunt him as time became limited.

The group matches didn’t finish until around 8:30pm and then it was rushe to get all the matches in for a reasonable finish.

Races to 6 ensued for the KO stages and we were down to relative newcomer Matt Ford and Ricardo Jones in the final – to save on time a race-to-2 was decided for the final and Jones won it 2-0 taking the £300 first prize and Ford settling for £200.

The next one is in November and the group stage will be much shorter!!

Matches from this weekend will be available to view soon if you missed the live broadcast.
