Live Snooker Today.
The quarter-finals are over and now is where the real action starts! The semi-finals of the World Snooker Masters start this afternoon, first up is defending champion Mark Selby against one of the most highly regarded match players in the history of snooker, John Higgins.
It should be a very tough game with Selby having played final frame deciders in his first two matches, this could cause a bit of fatigue. On the other hand Higgins looked comfortable in beating Ding Junhui 6-4 and the Scot was never behind.

The second semi-final is between the ever controversial Ronnie O’Sullivan and another Scotsman Stephen Maguire. In my opinion this is tougher to call than the first match. However, I have to go with my pre-tournament prediction of a 10-9 victory for Selby over O’Sullivan in the final, so O’Sullivan should just edge this.
The Rocket does tend to raise his performance for the big occasions and this tournament probably ranks as the second most prestigious after the World Championships.
Interestingly three of the World’s top 4 have made it to the semi-finals, the only one missing out is Maplin UK Champion Shaun Murphy, once again beaten in a first round match.
