My prediction is this match will be finished some time early next week… x

  2. Lils says:

    High quality game. Speedy too!

  3. Lils says:

    I’m lost for words!

30 mins, 2 frames, Halpin could and should be 2 frames up . .

Hope it all settles down soon, speeds up a little and one of them shows some ability. I can only imagine how nerve-racking it is playing for £10k, but perhaps Kelly should have thought twice about wearing his old Pro t-shirt, coz the standard at the moment is amateur at best!

  4. stunts2 says:

Ronnue did a 147 faster than John just cleared those up.

  5. thehustler says:

Nice work Pete – JK looks to be motoring now, cant see him losing this match at all. Halpin so fa has been largely unimpressive, although maybe he’s just settling in. John should settle first mind you; they’re his tables!! :-)

  6. Jodieii says:

Quality is poor Lils… Im shattered its sending me to sleep… x

  7. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Table looks really slow from here, Pete. Is that just an illusion, or is it really as slow as it looks? Could this be a Kelly ploy to slow the match down, as against a snooker player that could be an advantageous tactic?

Not the highest quality match thus far, but money matches rarely are. Takes a while to settle in usually, and for that sort of money there is a lot of settling in to do!!

  8. mop says:

wow 2 break and runs. the proper game is starting!

  9. stunts2 says:

Does anyone know the background of these two players, Lils?

  10. Jodieii says:

Can someone explain how that bloke got his nickname please… poor tosser… mwahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  11. Golden says:

Either Tony has money to burn or some incredibly trusting mates! This is John’s to lose . .

  12. Rob says:

    Good game so far,

One thing that I feel about this is the standard of pool that Tony plays week in week out is not as high as John.

Tony plays in the local league that I do whereas as John plays inter, county and more. Tony has been making the mistakes that you can get away with at local level, but is being punished for them here.

John 18-10 for me, but I hope it’s closer.

  13. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Can someone tell the Soulman to be quiet?? :)

  14. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    Cricket? You’re not well.

This is CUESPORT TV, is it not?!!

Come one Pete, get it together…. :)

  15. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

:) I’m still here mate, the Soulman is John Sullivan….

  16. Jodieii says:

Soulman is the noisy one in the background…lol AKA John Sullivan… x

  17. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Why can I only see my own comments, and those that were made before my first one?

  18. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Since you love the word ‘shocker’, have a gander at this….
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shocker_(hand_gesture)

    (Maybe not one for publication…… ;) )

  19. Lils says:

Soulman CAN’T be quiet. It’s just not possible.

I can’t possibly see John losing this; seems that Tony just doesn’t have a good enough game for him.

    As for Cricket?! That’s a girls game . . . ;)

  20. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Bad language, me? You’re quite obviously unwell… ;)

  21. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

You neglected to answer my first question, Pete. Is the table really as slow as it looks?

  22. The Stonefish says:

Superb quality, and good commentary guys.

Does anyone know what percentage of the money has been put up by the players, and what percentage has been put up by backers?

  23. Lils says:

AbsolutelyFlawless :Why can I only see my own comments, and those that were made before my first one?

Because no-one wants to talk to you, ya fool! We’ve all blocked you . . . lolololol

  24. Lils says:

It’s not the table that looks slow – it’s just John.

  25. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    up yours, Lils….

  26. Lils says:

    Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Shhhhhhh, there’s a game going on you fish. :D

  27. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

You need me and Shap on commentary, Pete… :D

  28. Jodieii says:

    lol @ Lils x

  29. edd says:

just tuned in for first time.
    all looks good so far.

  30. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Another unlucky kick in-off the break for Kelly there, think that’s 3 out of his 4 breaks so far

  31. Rob says:

My favourite player there is……………the ref. Quality cueman.

  32. youngdisher says:

Thanks for the stream decent quality. i think John is gonna win hopefully there will be more matches shown on here as it gives me something to do whilst im at work :)

  33. Lils says:

stunts2 :Does anyone know the background of these two players, Lils?

Apparently Tony is a snooker player from the Woolwich area and John, well, I don’t know WHO he is.

    ;)

  34. Lils says:

The referee has a very shiny head and looks like Homer Simpson.

  35. stunts2 says:

Just to buck the trend, I will go for Tony to win 18-14. Neither have been that impressive so far though! Not the standard I would expect to see in a ten grand challenge, hope it improves.

  36. stunts2 says:

Is JK the mod on CCI?

  37. Lils says:

No – JuanKing is Marv. John is 2ndVisit.

  38. The_Teach says:

Thanks for all of the comments, if anyone experiences any issues with the stream please let us know.

stunts2 :Just to buck the trend, I will go for Tony to win 18-14. Neither have been that impressive so far though! Not the standard I would expect to see in a ten grand challenge, hope it improves.

Just cuz its for 10k dont mean the standard will be better. imo there is a hell of alot of pressure on each player.

  40. Jodieii says:

No the JK who is mod on CCI is Juan-King aka Marvin Alderton x

  41. Rob says:

If anything it lessens the quality.

  42. mop says:

Tony is turning up his game. I think Tony might have this one. I’ll go for 18-15 to Tony. Should TV games be on the minute clock to keep things moving quickly?

  43. thehustler says:

Can’t see anything else but a win for John. Dunno much about the other bloke, but john looks far too good for him at the mo.

  44. Lils says:

I don’t understand how someone who can take out clearances like Tony has done can have tweaked up early doors!

Let’s hope it continues and this could be a good match! I’d like to see Tony win, but he’s still got to be the big underdog. But the more table time he deprives John of, the better. I remember watching Pat the Chat against John and he’s not good from behind* . . . (*insert your own comments here.)

  45. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Whether or not the match is on TV is irrelevant. If it were you playing for 10k, and you wanted to play slowly, you wouldn’t agree to it being on the clock, would you?

  46. Jodieii says:

    Mwahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa x

  47. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Pete, I’ve got a problem with the stream. The sound must be playing up or something, cos the commentary is sporadic at best… ;)

  48. Lils says:

The_Teach :Thanks for all of the comments, if anyone experiences any issues with the stream please let us know.
    Pete & SteveCueSport TV

I have an issue with the stream – it’s making the table look as dead as Absolutely Flawless’s future money match career.

  49. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    I’m only joking with you, Pete… :)

  50. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    Lils, up yours…. ;)

Fancy coming to Wales on the 28th March?

  51. Lils says:

John Kelly breaks like he has Barbie arms.

  52. Lils says:

    AbsolutelyFlawless :Lils, up yours….
Fancy coming to Wales on the 28th March?

God, no! Danny & I were gonna come to your match in Wolves, but not Wales!! Bit too much of a trek fella. Get one in Cambridge and we’ll be there!!

  53. mop says:

    @AbsolutelyFlawless
You dont get a choice in world champs about stopclock. The only reason its normally ignored is due to refs not being able to do it. And the rules state a minue. So is slow play legal?

  54. Lils says:

“Maybe could have done with another couple of inches, but who couldn’t?!”

    Haaaaaaaaaaaa!

    If only I understood that . . .

  55. Lils says:

mop :@AbsolutelyFlawlessYou dont get a choice in world champs about stopclock. The only reason its normally ignored is due to refs not being able to do it. And the rules state a minue. So is slow play legal?

It is when there’s no clock. And John Kelly refuses to play money matches off the clock.

  56. Lils says:

Sorry – that should read he refuses to play money matches ON the clock!

Oh, you know what I mean . .

  57. stunts2 says:

    Frame 10 gifted to Tony.

  58. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    @ Lils

  59. Lils says:

    Pete/Steve,

Considering there is quite a bit of background noise with the spectators, is it not possible for you to be able to commentate during the frames?

  60. thehustler says:

stunts2 :Frame 10 gifted to Tony.

yeh wee stutter from John there – still not the greatest of quality yet, but it must be a huge pressure playing for that kind of money

  61. juan-king says:

    Jodieii :
No the JK who is mod on CCI is Juan-King aka Marvin Alderton x

    AKA ‘ The Selby Slayer’ .. ;-) x

  62. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    @mop

Basically, if two people are playing a money match, they agree on the rules between them. If I play Lils, and we agree to play World Rules, but allow a skillshot and play to a 40 second clock, then that is what we’ll do.

So if John doesn;t want to play with a clock, and finds an opponent who agrees to this, then the minute rule becomes redundant. :)

  63. mop says:

    @AbsolutelyFlawless
Not arguing with that. 2 people play for money they decide on all the rules for the game. They can play any rules they like if they agree.

Just stating stopclocks are good for making pool a better spectatator sport.

  64. Lils says:

    Indeed.

  65. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

I’d agree with that, and also wouldn;t play a match without a clock myself. I’d get bored to tears. However, if a player thinks he has a better chance of winning a match, especially for thousands of pounds, then he will not deliberately choose to do something that decreases his chances, for the sake of the spectators.

  66. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Example, I cannot see Ben Flack or Keith Brewer agreeing to play a money match with Chris Melling on the clock, but by the same token, Melling would be more reluctant to play either of them without one….

  67. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

I personally would like at some point to play a match under a 45 second clock, with a call from the ref on 30 seconds. I think a minute is too long. Anyone who needs a minute a shot needs to play carpet bowls instead.

  68. Rob says:

Mop – I thought u were going tonight?

  69. Lils says:

    Twitchy kitty . .

  70. mop says:

    @Rob
Wanted to, but by the time i got the kids to bed it was gone 8. And Bexleyheath to Peckham can be a boring drive!
    Streaming vid is gr8 quality.

John is making too many mistakes!

  71. stunts2 says:

Would have thought they would have asked the ref to wear something smart for this.

  72. Rob says:

Shows the pressure when most of the frames are being given away rather than won.

  73. stunts2 says:

    Live streaming has been faultless.

  74. Rob says:

Tony’s on the bud! – Here comes the charge.

  75. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

give me a shout out pete!! lol
    28th March

    http://www.welsh8ball.com/viewtopic.php?forum=39&topic=6541

  76. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

  77. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

  78. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    LOL

    Worst shout out in history!!

  79. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    @Rob

    Mr Southey?

  80. youngdisher says:

Mr AF u not worth shouting about lol.
everytime i watched u play on CSTV u been poor so maybe u should play without them there altho i would like to watch and hopefully see you win mate gl btw

  81. The_Teach says:

@AF you have a 100% record in front of our cameras do you not?

  82. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    @The_Teach

Yep. Never been beaten….. Oh hang on, that’s not right….

To be fair, I’ve never played above 30% in front of cuesport.tv, so not sure I want you there in Wales!!

  83. Lils says:

John keeps doing ‘the funky chicken’ when lining up shots – what’s the bobbing of the head all about?!!

Dave Hall would be proud of him . . .

  84. edd says:

Have heard that you can not watch it if using firfox or google chrome. any reason why?

  85. juan-king says:

    I’m watching in Firefox edd .. :D

  86. juan-king says:

Oh and if Rich gets a shout out , where’s mine? :p

  87. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

I can;t watch in FF, have to use IE, it’s the only thing I now use IE for.

My mate Lee is also trying to watch, but can;t cos his IE is being difficult. Maybe you could give Cruncher a ring, Pete, and offer some technical support? :)

  88. edd says:

    juan-king :I’m watching in Firefox edd ..

The partner is on laptop useing firefox and it dont work for her.

  89. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    @juan-king

Yeah can see that one, J-K…

“And we have the very well known “Wan-king” on the blog, for those of you that don;t know…..”

  90. Lils says:

My hubby is watching in Firefox and it’s alright for him too . .

  91. juan-king says:

    AbsolutelyFlawless :
    @juan-king
Yeah can see that one, J-K…
“And we have the very well known “Wan-king” on the blog, for those of you that don;t know…..”

  92. edd says:

maybe the laptop dont like her lol.
Oh well Im on desk top so no probs for me lol

  93. Lils says:

Saying that, when you try to view in Firefox, it does prompt you that it’s designed for viewing on IE . .

  94. Lils says:

This match has been all about mistakes so far. The only one I’ve made is starting to eatch this match and knowing i’m going to have to leave it with the score around 12-10 because it’ll be time for sleepies!

  95. juan-king says:

I’ll let you know who wins on Thursday then ;-)

  96. Baizebhoy says:

Would be a much better game if Blackball rules !

  97. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

I might get Halligan to ref my next match!! ;)

  98. juan-king says:

nice b+d there but I was a bit bemused by the shot John played on the last yellow – seemed to make the finish look more difficult than it needed to be ..

  99. Lils says:

Shot selection hasn’t been at an all-time high in this match to be fair . .

  100. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Maybe he is entertaining for the cameras… no, wait…

  101. edd says:

    how close

  102. stunts2 says:

showboating off 3 cushions for 10k?

  103. Lils says:

And that shot from Tonys last yellow to black was horrific. I’m not sure if it was overhit to try and compensate for the dead slow table or was just a poor shot in general.

Bugger playing for good money if it affects your game like that!

  104. stunts2 says:

Time to ease back on the buds Tony.

  105. Lils says:

Either that or time to start downing them!!!

I’m finding the match really hard to watch now so i’m gonna bid you all a fond farewell and hope it doesn’t drag on too much longer.

Good luck on the comeback trail Tony. :)

  106. juan-king says:

Well I’m nicely settled now – closed the pub , got a nice sandwich and a flask of coffee to see me through to the end of the match – hopefully !!

  107. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

    Pour me a cup, J-K, I’ll be there in a bit…. ;)

  108. juan-king says:

    No probs mate ! :D

  109. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Got any pro-plus to help me get through this match?? ;)

  110. Rob says:

not long left if it carries on like this

  111. juan-king says:

At least I can smoke when I want to now ! :D

  112. juan-king says:

    AbsolutelyFlawless :
Got any pro-plus to help me get through this match??

Nope but I’ve got a deal on Red Bull and stereo speakers are on offer too – buy one, get one free !!

  113. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

Watching this makes me want to get my cue out after near on 5 years!

  115. juan-king says:

stop sitting on the fence in the rules debate Pete !!

  125. Burn says:

How about giving a shout out on your commentary to the Surrey County teams, A & B mens team won the National InterCounty titles at Yarmouth over the weekend. First time 1 County has held both mens titles since 1996. Come on the Surrey!!!

  126. Bigfela says:

  132. Bigfela says:

  134. youngdisher says:

  135. AbsolutelyFlawless says:

This WAS a captain-less environment. You just F***ed that up. :(

  136. thetrain says:

just wondered if the last text went thriugh as it said error in sending it. cheers

  137. Baizebhoy says:

Whats stopping the two bodies amalgamating and making pool as big as darts ?

  138. thetrain says:

the rules have to be blackball as ive played both and world rules is make the most deliberate fouls and win. also carry 2 shots is a joke in this age.

  139. youngdisher says:

LOL o yeah i forgot hes ur best friend sorry.
I no u miss him really

  140. juan-king says:

Careful of those splinters Pete !!

  141. youngdisher says:

Old epa is boring i was being sarcastic nevamind mate

  142. The_Teach says:

    Good point baizebhoy

  143. The_Teach says:
