John Higgins, who at one point led 4-1 against Ronnie O’Sullivan until the reigning World Snooker Champion had a bit of a resurgence, came through his quarter-final a 5-4 victor.
Higgins will now play Welshman Ryan Day who himself demolished Saun Murphy 5-0 in an earlier encounter.
