Two Champions Collide

On Saturday July 23rd Money Match TV history will be made as for the first time two current champions go head-to-head.

Arfan Dad, with a nine match winning streak, will be aiming to reach double figures in his match against Matt Lawrenson.

Lawrenson himself was a winner last time out against Kevin Uzzell and the former European Junior Champion will be looking to knock Arfan off his perch.

Money Match TV has always had four matches where the ‘winner-stays-on’ a bit like boxing, at this event it is the first time that two of these champions have come together.

Arfan and Matt recently contested the final of the British Amateur 9-ball Championships, played in the same venue, on the same table over the same match distance. It was Arfan that now goes into their money match on 23rd July with added confidence after winning that match 21-12 on Sunday, he said, “[I] played awesome in the final to beat Matt Lawrenson 21-12. Good confidence booster going into our MMTV match on Saturday.”

The winner of this match will return next month against a brand new challenger and Arfan will be desperate to keep his unbelievable run going.

As with every other MMTV event before it, there are also a further 5 matches, 2 of which will be televised live on Cuesport TV.

Lee Rigby plays Craig Waddingham on the TV table at 11am, this is followed by two local lads, Phil Newman and Jamie Yates taking the 2:30pm slot before the headline match, mentioned above, at 6pm.

There are then a further 3 matches on table two where live scoring will be offered on the live stream throughout the day.

Visit Money Match TV 13 for further details and to purchase the PPV offering.

Five Days Until Next Live 9-ball

It is now only 5 days away from the next live 9-ball action, Money Match TV 13, an event that features Arfan Dad v Matt Lawrenson as it’s headline match.

The two ‘headline’ players faced-off in the final of the British Amateur Championships on Sunday with Arfan Dad running out the 21-12 winner on the same table that will be used for the Money Match on Saturday.

This will undoubtedly give him the edge going into this hotly anticipated match. Arfan commented on his Facebook feed that he, “just won the british amateur 9 ball championships, played awesome in the final to beat Matt Lawrenson 21-12. Good confidence booster going into our mmtv match on Saturday.”

Now is a good time to sign-up for this match, Matt is going to be desperate for revenge but with the added pressure of playing for his own money, you cannot miss this edition of Money Match TV.

The event will be run on Pay-Per-View and it costs only £3.99 for a full days action, Buy Money Match TV 13.

Our system is secured using 128-bit SSL and uses PayPal for all transactions. Any issues with the payment please let us know and we deal with it as soon as we can.

TV Match Schedule:

2:30pm – Phil Newman v Jamie Yates

6pm – Arfan Dad v Matt Lawrenson

Plus you will get live score updates from the second table within the live stream. Please join us for this event.

Arfan Dad v Matt Lawrenson – MMTV 13

On July 23rd Cuesport TV will be showing an amazing 9-ball match live on pay-per-view.

For the first time in Money Match TV history two current MMTV ‘Champions’ go head-to-head to become the undisputed king of the series.

Arfan Dad who has won an astonishing 9 MMTV matches back-to-back will face-off against the young pretender, Matt Lawrenson. Lawrenson recently won his MMTV crown by beating Kevin Uzzell at MMTV 12 and has a lot of pedigree having won the recent GB9 Challenge Cup. Matt is also a former European Junior Champion and has been heralded as one of Britain’s future stars of 9-ball pool.

It is estimated that this race-to-21 9 ball challenge match will be for around £1000-per-man and with both players having had experience of the Vegas Bar crowd and the TV table it is sure to be an absolute cracker to watch.

Buy the PPV For this Event Now – £3.99 for a full days action.

In addition to this historic headline match, MMTV 13 will serve up two further televised matches and another three matches with live score updates played on the adjacent table.

The lineup so far is as follows:

11am – TV Table, Elliott Sanderson v Anthony Banhan. Table Two, TBA

2:30pm – TV Table, Phil Newman v Jamie Yates. Table Two, Liam Waterworth v Nicky Hayes.

6:00pm – TV Table, Arfan Dad v Matt Lawrenson. Table Two, Lee Speight v Sam Hurst.

This will be without doubt one of the best MMTV days so far with the headline match being one of the best we have seen in the series 13 month history.

All matches on Money Match TV are played to strict rules. The game is 9-ball, race-to-21 racks, with winner breaks format. 3 point rule (as on GB9 Tour) is employed on the break, a magic rack is used to keep racks consistent and to speed up play as players will rack their own balls. The one ball is racked high.

Buy This Event Now on PPV – £3.99 for around 9 hours of live 9-ball pool action.

The Money Match TV Debate

Money Match TV as a series of pool events has now been running for over a year. A debate has been sparked recently about why players from the southern parts of the UK are failing to travel for these MMTV events.

What has started to happen is a core nucleus of players, from the Yorkshire area, have started to dominate these events and fresh faces and new talent are not putting themselves forward except in the lower banded matches.

In order for the series to be successful for us as the ‘broadcaster’ we need some needle and higher profile matches. It is a long trip for us from Dorset every month and there will become a point very soon where it becomes unsustainable for us to continue.

We will be starting to dictate a bit more the matches that will be shown on the ‘TV’ table and some of this can come from you guys telling us the matches that you would like to see. If we believe it is going to draw in a big crowd we will try our best to put the match on.

On a well known web forum some comments have been made about the number of ‘winner-stays-on’ matches. The whole system was built around boxing and the winner-stays-on nature of title fights. We still believe that this is the best way of developing the series, however, a number of users have suggested cutting the number of these matches and increasing the wildcards. The problem with this is that we would then be forcing players to play against each other in order to cut the numbers down, for new ‘winners’ this is just unfair as they have just won the right to ‘defend’ their position and start to win some money.

The series has a huge potential audience and now it is about stepping it up with some very interesting and ‘mass-market’ matches.

What are your thoughts on the Money Match TV series? How can it be developed? How can the PPV side of things be marketed better in order to keep the series running?

Money Match TV 13 takes place on Saturday 23rd July

Bale Organises Another Big Money 8-ball Match

Bridgwater based professional, Oly Bale, has organised another big-money challenge match that will be shown live on Cuesport TV (Pay-per-view).

The match, hosted by Yeovil Snooker Club, takes place on Saturday 4th June from 6pm.

Bale’s opponent on this occasion is Northern Ireland’s Ronan McCarthy. Like his match against Gareth Potts in the same venue in 2009 this race-to-21 frame match will be for a minimum 10k per man, with some reports suggesting it could be a lot higher.
