Back in late December I set the challenge of trying to get 1000 fans to the Cuesport TV Facebook Fanpage by January 31st.
I can announce that even with another 4-odd hours remaining we have passed the target.
What this means is, that as promised, we will make a £100 donation to the Paul Hunter Foundation. In addition we will be awarding a £50 voucher to one fan to be used at Billiards Boutique.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that supported the challenge and have either discovered or continued enjoying Cuesport TV. I now have to think up another challenge and fundraiser to push us over the 2000 fan target and beyond.
Later this year (probably March) we will have an exclusive Guinness Record attempt that will be shown live online throughout the duration. For this we will be asking for donations from our viewers and fans to raise some good cash for an excellent cause.
So once again, Big Thanks!

I have been contacted by somebody from the Scottish Blackball fraternity asking if I know of anyone that would want to play some money matches against Scotlands finest up in Glasgow.
Recently it has been clear to me (off the back of the Potts v Bale match) that Cuesport TV needs more high profile one-off matches.
This could be an opportunity for anyone so basically if you fancy testing your skills against some of Scotland’s best Blackball players and are prepared to play for high stakes then drop me a message. I will pass on your details.
This also goes for keeping us informed of any upcoming money-matches, we are interested to hear about each and every one of them.

For some time now I have been toying with the idea of hosting events specifically for the Cuesport TV audience.
I never haide the fact that I feel Blackball is the better rule set when it comes to UK ’small-ball’ pool, and there are a lack of tournaments for these players to compete in as well.
It made obvious sense to me to promote an event of our own and I wanted to do something different that would show Blackball in the right light.
The first ever tri-nations tournament will take place this year and will feature two-man teams from England, Scotland and Wales.
The tournament will be exclusively live online at Cuesport TV and will feature players like Craig Marsh, Simon Ward and Andy Lucas, plus it is hoped World Masters Champion Scott Ross will compete for Scotland.
Through sponsorship from BilliardsBoutique.com the event will have £2000.00 prize money with the winning team pocketing it all and the title for 2010. If successful, which I believe it will be, then it will become an annual event on the calendar.
The format, date and venue are yet to be set in stone but dates around April/May 2010 are being considered.

Happy New Year, this is my first post of 2010 and I have been looking forward to this year for some time. It is going to be a huge year in the development of Cuesport TV.
Our first event of the new year will take place this Saturday (16th January) and ironically like last year we open up with a £10,000 per man WEPF World Rules challenge match.
In terms of profile however, this one could not get much bigger. Gareth Potts, a three-time former World Champion will take on former European Champion Oly Bale.
The match is a race-to-30 frames and can only be watched at Cuesport TV. A subscription will be required in order to view this match and what a match it is expected to be.
Nobody hides the fact that both Gareth and Oly do not get on, the match has come about through a very good run of results from Oly against Gareth. Over the past two season he has beaten the Stoke-on-trent potter numerous times in short race tournament formats.
This will be a more difficult task and many people see Gareth as the pre-match favourite due to the longer race and pressure of the situation. In my eyes it will be close and I would be surprised if both players do not reach 20 racks. I am not going to call it and sit on the fence though!
All of this will of course go ahead weather permitting, travelling from Stoke for Gareth could be a major problem and likewise if there is snow in Yeovil then it may be difficult for fans and ourselves to get there.
The coverage kicks off at 5:30pm and the match is due to start at around 6:30pm. Prepare for a long night in front of your PC, MAC or laptop!
